| Leadership Calgary is a training ground for those who aspire to lead for it poses the challenge that with great power comes great responsibility, and where does responsibility begin? Learning that leadership begins and ends with humanity as the touch point, tempered by humility, compassion, and patience. I have gained much more than a course in principles; I have gained a way of seeing the world. Ethel Ni (LC Class 2005) |

| Ralamy Kneeshaw (LC Class 2006)
Leadership Calgary is more than a leadership course; it is an applied philosophy course, a personal development boot camp and a truly extraordinary experience. I am beginning to understand the extensive framework that is required to be able to tackle complex (and simple) problems and how to develop wise, disciplined approaches to my own thought and action. This was a profound and liberating experience and one that I hope many others can experience for years to come.
Building a path to wise action is an endeavor that we as a culture do not take the time for nor do we truly value it. So, spending ten months reading, learning, sharing and demanding an understanding of wisdom and wise action in reference to the greater community good has yielded an ardent convert ready to dedicate herself to this community and the global community we inhabit Ralamy Kneeshaw (Leadership Calgary 2006) |
| The people, the learning, the thought process, the ideas and best of all, the questioning and thirst for change was a passionate and inspiring journey that continues even after my class came to an end.
The more we questioned what we thought we knew, the more we challenged our very reality and in turn, ourselves, the stronger the need for change became apparent. However, along with these charged emotions came a deeper level of thinking, understanding, questioning and even a sense of purpose. The benefits of Leadership Calgary for me were and continue to be immeasurable.
In addition to the learnings, the community relationships that were formed, the increased personal questioning and awareness and the elevated thought process in those 10 months, Leadership Calgary continues to enhance my life today. Sandy Pitaoulis (Leadership Calgary 2006) |

| The lessons that I learned during Leadership Calgary are ones that I draw upon on a daily basis. The experience has taught me that failure is not fatal but is actually a chance to learn. It has taught me that I have the power to change the world. It has taught me about courage, hope, resilience, and persistence. It has taught me to think differently. And most importantly it has taught me that I must keep learning. Tracey Nichols (LC Class 2006) |

| Leadership Calgary has been instrumental in helping me learn and understand how I can involve myself in bettering the lives of fellow citizens. Leadership Calgary provides exposure to a comprehensive tool kit that allows civically minded individuals to better assess the wisdom and judgment behind their actions, and I feel grateful and honored to have been a participant in such an innovative program. I hope that my present and future community involvement moves people and organizations forward toward long-term, sustainable solutions. Daryl Martin (LC Class 2006) |

| My name is Acacia Ashton and I am currently a participant in the Leadership Victoria program. I'm finding that the program has really opened my eyes to what it means to be an active part of my community both from a personal and career development perspective. As a fairly recent graduate of high school, I am very interested in learning more about real world issues affecting my generation (both locally and nationally), and how I can develop a realistic vision along with the leadership skills to inspire those around me to work toward finding solutions to the challenges we are facing today. Through the program I am meeting community members from a wide variety of business sectors and backgrounds. Without the support of the Leadership Victoria's bursary program I could not have considered applying to the program. Acacia Ashton |
| This has been a learning experience that I will never forget. Apart from the leadership skills, that will be a huge part for both my professional and community service life, I have met and worked with a lot of new friends. Martin Abbott - Albian Sands |
| On each of the Leadership Wood Buffalo learning days, the topic of conversation aligned perfectly with what was happening at the time in my professional and volunteer life. I guess timing is everything, but whether it was the eye-opening exercise in strategic planning or the vigorous debate around fundraising, the material had a direct and immediate impact. At the conclusion of the program I will be better armed to take the organizations that I am involved with to the next stage of their development. Thank you! Russell Thomas - Keyano College |
| Leadership Wood Buffalo's program was exceptionally organized and provided a wide variety of unique training opportunities. Ive learned the value of diversity in groups and have gained a greater understanding about community leadership. I am beginning to find my voice and have taken a deeper look at what I value. The program provided an exceptional experience that I felt privileged to be a part of and the learnings will not soon be forgotten. I look forward to working with the individuals in the 2007 graduating class beyond the classroom to effect positive change in our region now and into the future.Thank you! Monica Lance - Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo |
