Ed is Manager of Human Resources at Athabasca Chipewyan First Nations Business Group in Fort McMurray. Prior to this role he was Project Manager with the United Way.
Over the years, involvement in the community has been important to Ed. He has been involved with the Human Resources field provincially as Founding Chair of the Wood Buffalo Human Resources Management Association, and as Director with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta from 2003 to 2005.
Ed has served on a variety of boards including the Fort McMurray Chapter of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, Chair of the Alberta Press Council, the Fort McMurray chapter of the Canadian Society for Training & Development, and the Fort McMurray Public Library Board. His most recent volunteer roles are member of the Alberta Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Workforce Council and chair of the Nonprofit Sector Link, a new umbrella group providing advocacy and capacity-building for the nonprofit sector in the Wood Buffalo region.
Dianne Bolton, Director

Dianne came to Leadership Niagara as a new career after retiring from twenty years in the shopping centre industry. She has a lengthy history in the voluntary sector having served on numerous boards and committees at local, provincial and national levels. During her period as President of the Social Planning Council of Niagara Falls, she was instrumental in the formation of both Volunteer Niagara and Information Niagara. She has been an active Toastmaster for many years earning numerous awards for public speaking which she now teaches to the voluntary sector under the heading “Telling Our Stories”. Dianne is also in demand as a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator on many aspects of leadership and running effective meetings.
Dianne is a past Rotary Club President and has earned a Paul Harris Fellowship Award for her work in the community. She currently serves on the Boards of St. John Ambulance and Habitat for Humanity.

Over the past twenty years Martin Itzkow held many senior positions in the Province of Manitoba, the non-profit or “Third” sector, as well as the private sector in Manitoba. Throughout his career he held positions in direct service, as well as administration in non-profit sector organizations serving youth,
seniors and families.
Martin has held a variety of positions with the Government of Manitoba including Provincial Director of Immigration and Settlement followed by the position of Director of Immigration Policy and Planning for the Government of Manitoba. Later on in his government service he was seconded (borrowed) to Citizenship and Immigration Canada on an interchange to become a member of Canada’s International Immigration Promotion Strategy Team.
Martin has authored countless policy documents for government; provided business and operational planning for the nonprofit sector organizations and groups; conducted quantitative and
qualitative research; and facilitated executive advisory to senior executives of many types of organizations.
In the latter part of 2004, he was one of the founders of the Manitoba Federation of Non-Profit Organizations. Also, he was one of the founders of the Canadian Federation of Voluntary Sector Networks (civil society networks), a pan-Canadian network of cross -sectoral provincial, territorial and local voluntary sector and non-profit alliances and/or coalitions. He was a past cochair for this network.
Martin was the Founding Managing Director of Leadership Winnipeg, a community leadership development program focusing on aspiring leadership potential in the City of Winnipeg and left this organization in 2008. Also, he helped found the Canadian Community Leadership Network; creating its operational model, diverse distributed leadership.
In 2005, he became a Research Associate of the Centre for Voluntary Sector Research and Development (CVSRD) at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. His focus will be on the linkages to be made between civil society organizations worldwide. (Development of: leadership, capacity, policy and relationships between the state, market and CSOs).
In 2007, he founded and is the CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of International Creative Learning Initiatives Inc., an international education corporation focusing on introducing world class education, learning curriculum, and skill-based health occupation training in Northern India. In 2008, he is collaborating and facilitating the implementation of a emerging pan-Canadian community leadership program called the Canadian Muslim Leadership Institute centred in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.
Also in 2008 he founded another community initiative called “Face to Face (F2F) Winnipeggers conducting Conversations that Matter”. This initiative brings diverse Winnipeggers to informal and formal venues to engage in ideas through deliberative dialogue to strengthen Winnipeg, going forward.
His consulting expertise is local, national and international in scope and is a very active consulting practice. He characterizes himself as a creative futurist linking the current to the potential future.
Lisa Kolody, Director

Lisa Kolody has recently accepted the position of Director of Programs and Operations with the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County. The Multicultural Council promotes a harmonious society that is multi-ethnic and multi-faith and works towards the social equality of all cultures.
Ms Kolody is past Executive Director of Leadership Windsor/Essex, a community leadership program for business professionals. Prior to Leadership Windsor/Essex, she held positions as Director of Education at a local hospital and Health Promoter at a community health centre. Her interests and experience include leadership development, marketing and communications, curriculum development and program evaluation.
In 2008, Lisa accepted the position as Co Chair of the Canadian Community Leadership Network. She is also an active member of the Athena Committee, Windsor Special Olympics Organizing Committee and the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Selection Committee.
Lisa Kolody graduated from the University of Windsor with a Masters of Education, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.

Jonathan Perkins, Director

Jonathan Perkins currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the LeadWell Foundation in Calgary, Alberta. Since late 2006, he has led the Foundation’s main research and knowledge transfer programs, as well as managing the organization’s day-to-day operations. This includes having worked with the Canadian Community Leadership Network to host a series of community leadership webinars, and support the building of a new technology plan for the organization.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Jonathan served as Vice President, Professional Accreditation for the Certified Management Accountants of Alberta (CMA Alberta) from 2000 to 2006. At CMA Alberta, this role involved leading the main accreditation portfolio in support of Alberta’s more than 6,000 active members and up to 1,000 active students and candidates annually.
After moving to Calgary in 1999, Jonathan worked with the Calgary Centre for Non-Profit Management (now CentrePoint) as Manager, Consulting and Director, Business and Knowledge Management. In his consultations with non-profit client organizations, Jonathan specialized in business and strategic planning, governance transition, and enhancing business processes.
From 1994 to 1999, Jonathan served in a range of roles with the Parliamentary Centre in Ottawa, including providing advisory and research services to Canadian parliamentary committees. He also coordinated the multi-phase Canada-Russia Parliamentary Program, working in close collaboration with the Parliament of Canada and various government departments.

William Roberts comes to be the Founder and President of the Whistler Forum for Leadership and Dialogue from his twenty years of leading faith communities, seven years as a provincial legislator and ten years managing special project campaigns for a host of non-profit groups in the Pacific Northwest. His studies at Harvard in the late seventies led to his Masters of Divinity and his involvement with the Centre for World Religions. As a Member of the Alberta Legislature he frequently attended programs at the Banff Centre. In the early nineties he graduated with a MBA from the Executive Programs at the University of Colorado, Denver’s School of Business, and began his contact with the Aspen Institute. These experiences led to his commitment to interdisciplinary approaches to understanding and addressing issues of contemporary culture.
In 2003 with five founding Board members he established the Whistler Forum bringing his skills as a leader, facilitator, educator, legislator and fundraiser. The goals of the Forum are to build community by fostering citizen engagement and developing collaborative leadership locally and globally.
